Walking it Off

Monster breakfast after a bit of a lie-in, with a huge batch of tattie scones fried up using the left over mash from yesterday, then on with the winter woolies and the walking boots to try and balance out some of that starch and calorie intake. Poor Euan was taking some stick after his thoroughly entertaining activities last night so he walked most of the way around the Dam 50 yards in front of us. Almost disappeared into the fog at times. This was about the only time I managed to get them all in the same frame.

There were lots of families out and about doing the same, though one had us in the horrors as we watched a young lad in a very dodgy looking and very small inflatable dinghy paddle out into the freezing water (some of it was still iced over) without any sort of life preserver on. Between puffs on her cigarette, the woman watching him from the shore gave out helpful shouts of "don't go too far out," so I'm guessing that was the risk assessment covered. Unbelievable.

Somehow managed to take out most of our wine glass collection just before we headed out - 3 left out of 12 - though I'm blaming a wobbly table. Thankfully not the expensive crystal, but might need to be supping the Malbec from a mug later on. That, accompanied with some turkey, stuffing and broon sauce butties, and a game or two with the kids will suit me just fine though.
