Post match reaction

What a game of football I have just watched.

Afc Fylde versus Barrow.

Barrow arrived as league leaders with Fylde in second place.

It was the first of 3 massive games over Christmas for Fylde. On Sunday we visit 3rd placed Guiseley before the return match at Barrow on New Year's Day.

The first half of today's game was good; rather like a game of Chess as each side worked out the other.

I imagine both managers told their players the same thing at half time: "We can win this".

In the second half both teams went for it and we saw a 5 goal thriller.

Great football, crunching tackles, great goals for both sides and a penalty.

Final score: Afc Fylde 3, Barrow 2 in front of our biggest crowd of the season.

I spoke to players of both sides after the game, and the match officials. They all said they'd enjoyed being involved in the game.

That says a lot for the quality of the match. People will have paid a lot more money today and seen much worse football.
