Temperature inversion, Helvellyn

After yesterday's great walk up Grisedale Pike, I set off before sunrise today to try to get part of the way up Helvellyn before dawn, (even carried a tripod). Although at first there was too much cloud for a sunrise, the high level cloud burnt away leaving this incredible view. I even witnessed a Brocken Spectre with my shadow cast centrally in it (almost blipped that!) Yesterday I took almost 200 pics, today I took well over 300! Striding edge looked spectacular, Nethermost Pike and Dollywaggon Pike were fabulous, and Grisedale tarn on the way down looked amazing too - really didn't have a clue what to Blip - my short list was 20 pictures!  Hope this one "does"!
