The Slaughter House
Off to Manchester airport early this morning and saw D off on his flight back to Montreal.
We then headed to Dunham Massey for an early morning walk in the deer park.
The little building in this photo is the Slaughter House built around 1740. The actual killing of the deer would have been done in the park and the venison would have been dressed and hung here. It was later converted into a summerhouse when a game larder was built in the kitchen block at the main house.
