Boxing Day walk..

We try not to sit around eating, and drinking, at Christmas. We don't have overly planned banquets. That leaves the day free for us to choose what to do with it. Tomorrow it was (will be) board games, but today was a walk up at Balnakiel.

And not on the beach to Farraid Head, but across the golf course to Keoldale, and then around the coastal path back to the Golf course carpark.

Pastel coloured clouds with the sun trying to shine through, and a hard frost.. The ground was solid, but good walking. Found some good caves on the shoreline, and fascinating rock formations. Got back to Scourie soon after dark for a buffet style salad and more boardgames!

This shot reminds me of one of those 50's B-movies, was it "They came from outer space"?, where aliens hid below ground and captured people by making them fall into a sink hole..
