SUT 10 (Henshall and Ritchie)..

..Badnabay.

This is the remains of a chambered cairn at Badnabay, 6 miles N of Scourie. 15 stones form the skeleton of a chamber and passageway. These stones would have been the walls, with a surrounding cairn of smaller stones with a diameter of 12 metres. All the small stones have been robbed from the site just leaving these larger boulders.

This probably was built around 3000 BC, when Sutherland had a much milder climate. It's stood the test of time quite well at 5000 years old, older than the pyramids (c. 2500 BC).

With Ben Stack in the background, quite an impressive sight..

Went for a walk in hills around Badnabay for an hour or so, to get a breath of air, and give Tanni a run. She loved it and is now asleep in her bed..

Bright, but with heavy showers, and fairly mild. H is mending A's roof..
