Glacier Express

My early Christmas present to myself, a train trip through the Alps, continued today as I boarded the Glacier Express at Zermatt and travelled to Chur through some spectacular mountain scenery. Unfortunately the train's panoramic windows were very reflective so a lot of my photos didn't turn out great but this one of the Andermatt ski resort turned out well. The 'Frozen' and 'Narnia' soundtracks were perfect listening on the five hour journey through the magical landscapes. Everything appeared black against the white white snow.

Day 14: The Swiss Alps are a God given statement of his creativity and majesty. His love for us reaches higher than the 2800 m peak of the Glacier Express journey at the Oberland Pass, and wider and deeper and longer still! He promises forgiveness and mercy to those who seek it. Our aim in life should be to glorify this God, not simply take his gift of forgiveness as a get out of hell free card or to clear our conscience. Our lives should reflect his character as much as the mountains do his majesty because of all he has done for us.
