The house next doors was taken down today to make room for one of Washington's infamous McMansions.

Impressive process: it took less than two hours to reduce a house that had stood there since 1890 to a big pile of rubble. The machine hacked through the house as if it were made of paper, revealing one room after another, as file cabinets, an old TV from the 60s and a claw-footed bathtub came tumbling down in a cloud of debris. A bit sad, but at the same time, all the kids in the neighborhood gathered with wide round eyes. And so begins 2015...
