Rising Moon

As the sun set on one side of the sky the moon arose exactly on the other side.  Away from the setting sun the sky was covered in pink cloud but down on the horizon the sky was a little clearer so the moon showed for a few minutes through a pink haze.
We weren't out for long because we are both recovering from colds and the weather is very windy and feels very cold, despite temperatures above zero.  Those plus temperatures have melted a lot of the snow but since the actual ground is well below freezing the roads and paths are now covered in ice. 
As a present to ourselves just after Christmas we bought shoes which have metal studs embedded in the sole (Ice Bugs). In view of the present weather these were a brilliant investment and we walk around on the ice feeling an awful lot safer than before!
