Mjällomviken in Winter
Today I was out visiting the boat to make sure it was OK in its winter wrapping and to show it to L, who is considering taking over the boat. It was OK and L is now wondering as he drives back to Stockholm.
It was the first sunny day for a while and we had a really nice drive out to Mjällomviken (Mjällom Bay) and back.
This is an area I am very familiar with during the summer and even for me it was interesting to see it in the winter. All the lakes frozen, the roads icy, and the fields covered in thin snow.
The picture shows the inlet to Mjällomviken on the left and the way out to the Baltic sea on the right. Despite it being January the sea is still open, and even in the inlet it is mostly open with only one area of ice.
