Weell earned break from onion planting

Breakfast at 7.30 a bit spicey so I had rice and sugar. Then up to the preschool for half an hour doing colours and head, shoulders, knees and toes.the children were a bit shy.

Then up to one of the farms to do some onion planting so shoes off and into the irrigation channels - all the ladies wanted to talk but they didn't understand my description of men not being able to multi-task. They were really grateful for our efforts and rewarded us with some cake called Wando, a banana and some hot sweet tea. While we were working some of the school children from the morning came home.

Came back at 12.00 for lunch rice again and then a little siesta to get ready for the evening.

At 4.00 left hut to arrive at the treehouse - the farmers have built a special 2 storey treehouse but at the moment there's no roof but Grant and Chloe still wanted to use it.

At sunset the farmer cooked some rice and Dahl and then we climbed into our treehouses. The idea is to stay awake as long as possible and warn the farmers if you hear or spot an elephant. Monday was a full moon so it was very easy to see across the onion fields towards the jungle. The. Farmers spend every night in their treehouses and the families visit them during the day.

A very uneventful night except a bit of rain but Grant's enthusiasm wasn't dampened.
