Grey Partridge

I finally made it to Levenhall Links today. Its a large area of managed countryside trapped between Musselburgh racecourse and The Firth and an ideal area for walking, cycling and enjoying the coast and its birdlife.

There are 3 hides overlooking the flooded ashpits with good views of the pits and the birds. They were all roosting a distance away today but a covey of partridge walked just in front of the hide. They were quite close but in the shade so not the best image. They are quite dumpy birds but very attractive.
