Horrible day today strong winds and rain. Went for a walk into town and I was caught in a downpour so I sheltered in a disused shop canopy. Along came this huge monitor lizard about 4 feet long my first reaction was to go for my camera but then my next one was to move away but a passing car splashed it and it turned away although I did get a photo later. The Sri Lankan name is thalagoya.

Popped in the supermarket for some biscuits to feed the chipmunks - see above.
