Bruges

Backblip 1: suppose I’m a bit careful now. Not blipping when I’m away and the house is not occupied. Don’t want to tempt fate, again.

We left here about 5 a.m. and drove to Bruges where we arrived at around 10 a.m. It was dry, cloudy and cold.
It’s a really nice little town with lovely houses, many canals and even more chocolate shops.
We strolled through the streets for about two hours before we decided it was time for a quick lunch. We had omelets with a side salad. Mine had an extra helping of protein. A tiny slug. Never happened to me before. Luckily I wasn’t sick… ;-) I took a photo but it didn’t came out well.

A few hours later we left for Leuven where we booked the hotel. There is this hotel chain (Penta) which does these specials for a few week each year, where you get a really cheap room rate including breakfast. Last year we were in Leipzig. They have 29 hotels alltogether. :-)

The Penta Leuven is really cosy. Only the parking is very tricky to get to as Leuven has a hell of a lot of one way streets.

So after checking in we went for a stroll to get to know the town and had a fairly early dinner followed by an early night.
