Epitheny - of sorts
It being the last day of Christmas, when by tradition the three kings visited the infant Jesus, it seemed appropriate to blip .......
.... The Kings Arms on Bloom Street. You can tell it is the Kings Arms because it tells you so at least six times on the outside of the building. And there is a very striking royal coat of arms carved on the front of the pub.
Paul Heaton of the Beautiful South bought it a few years ago with his partner, after recording his latest record there (the pub has recording studios attached). It's a great pub, with room upstairs for concerts and theatre. A host of local clubs are based here - the Kings Arms Knitters (I have observed knitting in the lounge), the Salford Friendly Anglers (reputedly the world's oldest angling club), and more.
And they serve a good pint.
Looking at the pub web-site there is loads on this month - tempting !
