Christmas Cheer
This was the brightest, most colourful scene in an otherwise colourless grey day. Cold weather coming in later this week.
That's Friedrich Engels with arms folded. I wonder what he would have made of the capitalist activity buzzing around him. Mind you, when he supported his friend Karl Marx during the 1860s, he reportedly always made a point of ensuring the Marx family had the means to celebrate Christmas properly.
"If you could send me a few £ for the Christmas week now beginning, it would be very welcome." Karl Marx writing to Fredrich Engels. 19 December 1868.
