Back to Seattle
It was so weirdly warm this morning compared to the last freezing week we had at the island, we had to go for a mid morning row on water that looked like silk. Had a few so-so photos of Mt Rainier (and silky water) that were the first photos I’ve imported to my brand new Lightroom catalogue (after watching more how-to videos) and I was set to use. Then late afternoon I thought I better go to the neighborhood deli to get something for dinner, taking a (better) camera along out of habit, and the sky suddenly turned pink about 4:45 so a detour to the dock cross the street from our condo yielded this, complete with rowers! What a beautiful time to be out on the water! With this view! ( they all had lights on themselves or their boats). How could I pass it up?
If you look closely you should be able to pick out 9 or 10 building cranes at the south end of Lake Union, a sign of the enormous amount of construction going on now. ( good to look at, impossible to drive through…) Always nice to be back……
Edit: forgot to say I've put a few from our contrasting new Year's week in the Gulf Islands on flickr...
