Moon over Moscow

An early morning shot of the moon 'setting' in Moscow (well, relatively early morning, it was 8.00 a.m.).  Amazing colours to the sky too.

The moon is 'sitting' atop the dome of Moscow's Polyclinic No 1 with the Hotel Ukraine standing to the left.  The hotel featured of course in vastly different weather in my blip on 31 December 2014.

I captured the shot using an f2.8 70-200mm lens and a 2X extender.  However, I've noticed some difficulty with the sharpness of this combination in low light conditions.  Maybe others with this combo have experienced that too?
