Passing by

Meet Steve. I'm working from home today and Steve passed by for a chat. I take occasional services in the tiny, welcoming, friendly Chapel he attends. I've known Steve for more than 20 years, but didn't know that he has travelled the world, overland through Europe, Turkey, Iran, Pakistan, the Far East, Australia, North & South America and has travelled from North to South through Africa. These are just some headlines from a life of travel in which he actively seeks out trouble zones, volunteers with humanitarian agencies and talks to people to find out about their lives. He tells me that the friendliest people he has met are in Iran, the most welcoming, warm, generous people you could ever wish to meet. He told me tales of India, Bahrain, Armenia, Georgia, Qatar & South Africa! And of beer, chocolate & chips in Belgium. What a life of travel. Now ....... where's my passport?
