tonight the most marvelous dances. Malavika Sarukkai with her most touching solo Bharatanatyam-she never fails to fill the stage with her passionate energy and beautiful flowing and extremely feminine presence; marvelous arms and hands and dazzling, perfect movements. ART!

The next  group of Kuchipudi dancers-led by Jaikishore Mosalikanti in a very vibrant and fluent performance full of joy and crackling rhythm. Jaikishore, who is full bodied, when dancing becomes almost liquid light, drawing shapes and lines in space with seeming total ease and weightlessness. 

when we came home i realised i had left my camera in the academy, as they make you leave it behind (thanks for that: the performances can now take place undisturbed by clinking machines and flashes!!)
