DIY lunch

When we packed up to come to Vietnam we only put in cold winter clothing because we were visiting Beijing on the way.  We didn't realise how cold it would be here in Vietnam.  According to our guide last week was warm and sunny but now it's absolutely freezing!  There is a bitterly cold northerly wind and it's misty.

Today we are in Ninh Binh and we did a number of activities including a cycle trip around local villages,  a cookery lesson and a very chilly boat ride to some caves.

The highlight of the day was learning how to make sweet potato fritters and spring rolls and then eating the results together with some more delicious food freshly made by our tutor.  There was far too much for the two of us to eat and we felt guilty leaving half of it.
