Was so looking forward to lunch in the city with GOD but it soon became clear that no trains would run until late this afternoon and then intermittently.  When I phoned to cancel our reservation, the young man told me "Don't worry. It's happening with everybody" so there will be some empty tables in Princes Square.

Still foul, if calmer, outside.  Next door neighbour came to explain that he had removed our retired Christmas tree from the roof of our car!!  It is hard to consider going out into it.   Sleet to look forward to.
