A balmy day on the beach...

Perhaps not.
It was wild, wet and wonderful. John was off to the neighbours to sort out some wind damage and I drove to Calgary beach for a walk and look at the waves.

Walking in the wind was fabulous, a great way to clear the head (another is a Whisky Mac before going to bed). However it was too wet most of the time to use the camera and doubtful I could read the settings anyway. This was taken when walking back to the car, although I believe the view belies the true condition of the weather out there.

Our elderly Neighbour Harry asked a few days ago about cooking bacon, he fancied a sandwich and wanted to make it himself. I didn't go yesterday because of this cough/cold thing and just put a head in the door this morning to say hello and ask about the bacon. Fine. And he was just asking his other visitor how to make cheese on toast. After his wife died, in true Harry form, he organised somebody to cook and clean for him, for many years he was in the army and followed a life of working to a strict routine which didn't include cooking at all. Now he wants to make cheese on toast. He is amazing! Looking at him in the last couple weeks it's hard to believe he has a limited time to live.
