NOT A LOT HAPPENING

A ill wind was blowing as the saloon doors were kicked open out stepped a rugged man with his long weathered jacket looking haggered with his hands at his sides eyes darting from side to side as every movement made him jittery his hand was ready to draw out his big weapon of choice as the loose sheets of newspapers and leaves blew through the station like Prairie Tumbleweed hmmm, not really it was just me coming out the big glass doors at our messroom with my rain jacket and torch for heading to the depot in my booked taxi to bring a train up into the Waverley, at 06:40 this morning to make the 08:10 service to Plymouth,on such a stormy morning the haggered look was a result of getting up even earlier to collect my colleague and drive to work earlier than planned via the Kincardine bridge as the Forth Bridge was closed to all traffic so a 30 mile detour was made to make sure such dedicated railway staff got into work on time and to the idiot who decided to drive his high sided van over the bridge when they were banned from crossing and subsequently blew over with him in it I hope the police deal with him accordingly as no doubt it caused major problems as did a good area of Scotland suffer a battering and hopefully the driver of the Scotrail Sleeper train that struck a tree near Cupar is ok as it sure made a mess of the front cab from the picture I seen, anyway it was a wet and wild day and my self and Simon who came to work with me this morning as we were aware of potential disruption kept in touch via text along with speaking to our control in Birmingham and I also phoned the Forth Bridge Control to get the latest updates to see if the bridge would open but the info was it wasn't so me and Simon agreed a revised pick up time to make sure we got in on time to start at 04:48 & 04:56 respectivly so my haggered look was due to getting less sleep than hoped for and as you can see from the Arrivals/Departure board Not A Lot Was Happening with virtually all Scotrail trains cancelled and Electric trains being limited to 80mph with just the odd Virgin,East Coast and 'XC' CrossCountry service running, and the station was eerily quiet with leaves papers and all sorts blowing right through the station and that was it for today my usual chats at work and costa before heading home via the shops and it was time for dinner before I knew it with a 03:14 start tomorrow yawwwwnnnnnn oh well bed time it is now then movie for the day is "Into The Storm 2014" See Ya
