Alma mater

I was born just a mile or so from where I live, though I have lived far away in between times.  I went to university just a mile away from where I live also.  Sadly, the house where I was born has since been knocked down as part of redeveloping the land to build the university.  Now most of the uni is also going to be demolished too as it is deemed to have reached the end of its economic life.  Forty odd years for such a building seems a very short life span.  So, soon both university and house of birth will be gone in the name of progress.  At least it was a nice day to walk through the grounds and take the poor old dear's photograph.
