loose ends

I’m at a loose end;  Anniemay is off shopping with daughter-in-law Emma.  I’ve tried blipping various loose ends - bits of string, wires …. endless play on words.  Or should that be plays on words?  

I try tying up a few loose ends but soon get bored. I think about the January Challenge, but yes - we have no bananas.

In the end I resort to that old standby - the garden.  Today is the first day that this Hellebore has flowered.

The Botanical Society of Britain and Ireland undertook a plant survey on New Year’s Day to see how many different plant species were in flower.  The expected number for this time of year is between 20 and 30.  They actually found 368.

Over 300 different species that shouldn't be in bloom now, were.  Perhaps they were at a loose end.
