Taking The Air
This afternoon we took some of the bracing sea air at Emsworth. The wind was lively, as were the sea gulls and wind surfers who were whizzing along through the fast air currents. It was wonderful, particularly as we were soon after able to retreat into the warm and have a hot drink.
Emsworth Mill Pond and the promenade were originally built to serve a local mill (Quay Mill). In later years it was used as a swimming pool and there was a bathing hut was built on the Promenade. The pond and its wall are now used by a local sailing club and as a promenade for walkers.
