First rebuild. FAIL.
Rebuilding my broken PowerShot A1300 did not go as planned today.
Probably didn't help that I had totally forgotten who I unassembled it.
Problem with the camera was that grit had got into the lens mechanism, and over a few weeks it had damaged one of the gears near the motor (as I had found out when I got it apart).
Anyway, new gear arrived and I thought I'd give it a go to put back together.
After 30 minutes, had the camera mostly back together, and although it powered up, the mechanism wasn't happy. Unfortunately, to check that part again requires taking the whole thing apart again - which won't take long. Might give it another go tomorrow evening.
