Quick on The Draw

The USA made its reputation as Macholand with its Wild Western gunslingers, always ready to draw their pistols and kill everyone in sight for no apparent reason (in fact, they're still doing it).

Canada, attached to the northern border, and speaking more or less the same language, has always been seen as the wimpy cousin.

I found out why today in a restaurant close to the US border with Quebec. Picture the scene: Raised voices. The scrape of chairs as the argument escalates. Hands hover over holsters. Then the cry, REACH FOR YOUR PEN!!!!

Nope, somehow lacks the zeal and passion shown by our southern neighbours. Oh Canada! Back to the drawing board . . .
