Muay Thai

We arrived in Chiang Mai before dawn after not much sleep.  The bus was comfortable but neither of managed more than a few short dozes.  We did get served hot coffee before being kicked off though!

Its absolutely pouring with rain when we arrive.  We catch a Songthaew, with is one of the red taxi trucks, from the bus station and it drops us at the end of the road where our hotel is.  We check in and luckily the room is ready so we have a few hours sleep.  

We wake up around lunchtime and head out.  Its still pouring with rain so the rain macs make their first appearance for a while.  We look up the weather and it says raining until Tuesday ... lets hope not!

We have lunch, wander around a little then head back to the hotel as we're pretty wet.  We decide to go the Thai boxing this evening as at least its inside.  After a little research on the internet we find there are quite a few stadiums around, most of which have staged fights for tourists.  There are two that seem a little more authentic so we pick one of those which is close by.  When we arrive it seems ok to begin with but by the end we're not convinced its not staged.  A shame but a fun night anyway.
