An ordinary life....

By Damnonii

Do ya know what it is yet?

Worked my last Saturday school this morning and was completely overwhelmed as familes arrived with leaving gifts and cards for me. I honestly wasn't expecting that and it took all my strength not to dissolve and make a complete and utter fool of myself!

Thank heavens I waited till I got home before opening the cards. Such beautiful, heartfelt messages had the mascara dripping off my chin in seconds.

Since I started doing this job 13 years ago, it's always me who's felt the lucky one. What an honour and a privilege to be allowed into people's lives when they are often at their most vulnerable and be trusted to try and help. So many battles fought on their behalf and not always successfully. I suppose the overall feeling I'm always left with is could I have done more.....

But their messages today have touched my heart and I feel I can leave next week with the warm satisfaction of knowing that over the last 13 years I have contributed in some small way, to easing people's paths through some very difficult times. I will miss them all so much.

Stopping writing now before the newly applied mascara is off again!

Oh but before I go, have you guessed what today's blip is yet? It's my lovely colleague Krisztina's 35 week baby bump that she had painted yesterday for charity. It's always hard to resist a baby bump, but especially difficult to resist one as gorgeous as this! Snapped very quickly just as I was leaving so haven't really done her bump justice.

I suspect I won't be the only one blipping her bump today ;-)))

Just off to the House now to decide where the pendant lights in the kitchen have to go.....over the Island or over the kitchen table??!!!

Happy Saturday Peeps....be back to catch up with you later xxx
