Now Flooding
What a start to January. We now have floods and landslides everywhere after the snow melted quickly and with almost constant rain the fields have been unable to absorb the excess water. As you can see the field next to us is saturated and the burn is over flowing. There's usually just a trickle but you can hear the water roaring. Part of the Eathie Road has had a landslide and the bridge at Newhall which was damaged in Fridays storms can not be mended and needs to be completely replaced. They are hoping that a temporary bridge will be in place in the next couple of weeks.
The damage surveyor managed to get here and a claim has been put in. He flew up , coming from Enfield he must have had a shock. He enjoyed a cup of coffee and shortbread ;)
Unfortunately my injections did nt make it, the A9 has been terrible with drifting snow. They are hoping to deliver them tomorrow or Monday . It's raining heavily now and with the temperature dropping snow is forecast and the roads will be icy so I doubt it will be tomorrow. The pool will be out of the question again too so I will have to start taking more pain killers.
