Mandy's photo journal

Rambling.

We went on a long walk today through Farley Hill at Aborfield. It was a lovely crisp, sunny day and we had a wonderful time. We were exhilarated by the exercise, challenged by the mud and awed by the scenery - but it was tainted a bit by some grouse shooting going on. The beaters disturbed a deer that we saw running in fear across the fields, and we found a dead grouse abandoned in a ditch.
I think it's sad. Why do people shoot birds and animals just for sport?

"Whenever I see a photograph of some sportsman grinning over his kill, I am always impressed by the striking moral and esthetic superiority of the dead animal to the live one."
