Historical reflections
(Back Blip)
Still bitterly cold, but wearing an extra (fleece) layer helps tremendously.
We're both suffering from jet lag and L's leg is bothering him (probably a combination of the long flight and a lot of walking yesterday).
After a leisurely breakfast at the hotel, we set off for a bit more walking/limping. Headed past Trafalgar Square, through St James's Park to Buckingham Palace, then through Green Park to Piccadilly, a lovely browse around Fortnum & Masons (there's nothing like luxury food stuffs to keep me entertained!), Piccadilly Circus, Leicester Square and back through Covent Garden to the hotel. This renewed building is One Eagle Place on Piccadilly, near Piccadilly Circus. It really stood out to me as it stands in amongst all of the more historical buildings, as you can tell from the one next to it and the one opposite it, reflected in the windows.
In the evening, after dinner, we headed out onto Waterloo Bridge to try taking some night shots of the city landmarks, however, we quickly realized that we really need SarumStroller's patience and dedication to withstand the wind and cold for his art!
I'm sorry I've not been able to reply to you all but thank you for your lovely comments on and stars for my Trafalgar Square blip yesterday.
