Double Exhibitions at the Gobelins

There were two exhibitions at the Galerie des Gobelins in Paris, conveniently near us. 

One was "Les Gobelins au Siecle des Lumières", on the "Century of Enlightenment," described as the "golden age" of this leading producer of French tapestries.  The other show celebrated the 50th anniversary of the founding in 1964 of the "Workshop for the Creation of National Furniture" (only in France :).

The exibitions filled the two long floors of the Gobelins (this is a view of one end of the lower level), with tapestries (and preparatory paintings) on the walls, and super-modern furniture on in the middle of the floor.  Unusual, to say the least, but fascinating.
