The Saturday Drawing Room

aka The Falkirk Stadium.

Big game for the Bairns on Saturday. With the three teams finishing in places 2 - 4 in the SPFL Championship qualifying for the end-of-season play-offs, this was our opportunity to get into that elusive fourth place - the teams in positions 1, 2, and 3 seem already to be un-catchable. A home match against Queen of the South, the team currently lying fourth, knowing that a win would put us on the same points total as the visitors.

The match ended 1-1, with Falkirk having missed a barrowload of chances, including a missed penalty kick, to win the game. It was a good game of football, and Queen of the South had a few chances of their own, but the feeling at the end of the match was one of disappointment at what could have been. However, there are still plenty of games left in the season and we might still get that fourth place we long for. But Saturday was an opportunity missed.

Ach, it's only a game, as someone once said. Nice picture of the sky, all the same.
