Winter Feeding

I took my other half on my favourite Dovedale walk today. We started off at Ilam Hall where we had a quick coffee before the walk.

Half of the walk takes you away from the crowds along the side of Bunster Hill towards St Bertram's Well. It follows a trail through Dovedale Wood which then climbs steeply down to Dovedale via Ilam Rock. We decided at this point it would be a nice spot for a quick bite to eat. If we'd remembered the packed lunch!! Which we hadn't!

We then walked back to Ilam via Dovedale - where we finally had our sandwiches, as they were actually in the boot of the car.

There were plenty of sheep around, especially gathered around the hay in the feeders.

It started as a beautiful, crisp and sunny winter's day, which declined to grey skies and sleet by the end.
