WALKING BACK

Out for a stroll on a bright, cold afternoon I was returning from a warm log fire and a pint of beer at the local hotel when I was struck by the silence and solitariness of the journey home.
I wanted to linger and listen to the silence to hear the message. Instead I stopped and took a photograph. I look at it now and regret I had not stayed.
