Scrum down
A very cold day to be watching rugby again, but at least the sun was shining. I was over on the far side of the pitch to save squinting into the sun but the wind was blowing away across the pitch so most of the play was taking place on the far touchline. The crowd on the balcony certainly had a good view of the game even if they were looking into the setting sun.
This was an error strewn game. The team in green had at least 26 scrums awarded to them during the game owing to dropped passess by the team in blue. This was one of the few occasions that blue had the ball. Note the green flanker and green number 8 already dropping their bind from the scrum (illegal) as the ball is still at the feet of the blue number 8 and still in the scrum. According to the laws players must remain fully bound until the ball has left the scrum.
Walked into town in the morning for what is becoming our customary coffee at Pop's and bought one or two things we needed. And had a good evening in watching an old video - and I mean a video tape- of Runrig's concert at Stirling Castle in 1997 when the band and fans said farewell to Donnie Munro.
