Rain!

It's been raining on and off all day today, and there were a few flashes of lightning this evening as well.
Not unusual for some, but not too common here in Dubai.
The pretty heavy rain showers today soon overwhelmed the drainage system and there were quite a few large patches of standing water on the roads. This has contributed to the general traffic chaos on the roads today.
Another major contribution is that a lot of drivers here aren't used to rain and may drive just as fast as normal or particularly slowly, with some combination of hazard lights, fog lights and full beam headlights on the go for good measure.
We may be getting more of the same tomorrow, so should be another interesting drive to work.
