Bigger bam boo!

I went up to have a look at our clump of Chusquea macrostachya and yes, it is approaching the shade tunnel rather rapidly. Not sure whether to put in a concrete wall, or leave it to see what a bamboo marching through a tunnel looks like! The former, I suppose!

The biggest canes are about 4cms thick, which is impressive . . . . however, I hear that there's a hardy bamboo whose canes can grow to 17cms in diameter. Now that would be fun! Watch this space! What space?
