Grey Heron in the Park

Its been a while since I blipped, last year in fact. The dull mid winter weather hasn't been very inspiring, but I eventually managed to get out wth the camera yesterday.

I crept up on this Grey Heron thanks to lots of tree cover. I am amazed that it could stand in cold water for such a long time with the temperature at or below zero. I didn't see it catch anything and when I looked back from further along the path it had flown off.

I haven't fiddled with the photo at all, its just as it came off the camera.
