Pizza Oven

We took Blake to VJB winery down the road for lunch today. They have a lovely outdoor piazza, an excellent deli and an attractive pizza oven. We have our own bottle, which we can take in for refills of their Sangiovese-type table wine. We have taken Ozzie there with us before, so it seemed like a good place for Blake to learn how to behave around people and food.
Except for his perfectly lab-like desire to lick anything which has ever had food on it, including the ground, Blake was very well behaved.

Rudy and Ozzie, the "forgotten children" were not so happy with us. Dana forgot to bring Blake's backpack with his harness and leash in it, so I went and  got it on my way to class. I was hoping to sneak in, grab the backpack, and sneak out, but Rudy met me at the door tail wagging excitedly. He was not happy with me at all when I left almost immediately, and could still be heard complaining about his ill treatment as I drove off.

We decided to leave Ozzie at home for our first trip to VJB with Blake. It is about all we can manage to get Blake in the car and fasten his seatbelt, so even though Ozzie can get in all by himself, he was left behind today. He was resigned and didn't complain, but was only partly mollified by a treat as we left with Blake and an entire bag of treats.

It was warm in the sun, the food was good and it was also good to get out of the house to enjoy it.
