Friday: Wine and Song

Today was an incredibly varied day.  It started this morning with me speaking at an event on LGBT rights in support of the International Day Against Homophobia (IDAHO).

This evening, I went to an event where young scientists had to give inventive and entertaining three minute presentations on a scientific subject of their choice.  The idea was to sell a complex idea to an audience that didn't understand.  The prize was to represent Croatia at an international science festival in the UK.  I'm not sure I understand any of the scientific concepts but that could have been because the presentations were in Croatian.

And then, finally, K. and I flew to Split, arriving at 2300.  We were too late to eat but we joined my boss in a local restaurant for drinks where there seemed to be some political gathering taking place, supported by these guys singing some rousing local tunes.
