Briarlea

Jackie lives on his own in Briarlea and he is now 94.  He used to be the village smiddy, as can be imagined he has a wealth of parish tales. 

I went across to my mother’s in Stromness today to help her sort out some paperwork.  I’d previously taken home some of her correspondence to go through.  When I arrived she realised immediately that I’d left all the necessary documents at home.  What a rollicking I got.  Then I arrived home and had to relate this to CMC.  It’s been a while since I have seen CMC go to the drawer marked ‘Thumb screws’.
