Golden Morning

This morning dawned without a cloud in the sky.  There was a golden tinge in the sky above the far distant hills. The effects of yesterday's king tide were still in evidence with an extremely low tide this morning.
Later in the day we drove over to Marahau to meet up with Alex and a little later Duncan and Mei, for a picnic lunch beside the Sandy Bay estuary.  It was high tide when we arrived and the sea was washing over the spit and into the estuary in some places.  A king tide to be sure.  The water in the Sandy Bay estuary was very deep and made for some great swimming.
The image I am blipping today was captured in my favourite part of Kaiteriteri Beach..just where the stream drains water from the estuary and looking out towards the outcrops of rocks offshore from "Little Kaiteriteri", the neighbouring bay to the main beach.
