I want an Alpaca farm
Today was the Clyde Coast Guild outing to Gilmour Bank Alpaca Farm.
It couldn't have been a better day as we drove down the Nith Valley under bright blue skies and sunny sunshine.
We arrived at the farm and were very warmly greeted by Margot and Cathy who run the farm.
It was then time to go and mingle with the alpacas. I was surprised by how friendly they were as they came up to see us each time we entered the fields and were very intrigued by what was going on.
They weren't quite so happy with the Westies that live on the farm, especially Alfie the pup who kept on thinking it might be fun to pick a fight with one of them. It was a toss up as too which was the cutest, the alpacas or the dogs.
We also got to see 2 crias (alpaca babies) who were adorable.
I wasn't going to buy some fleece as I had already got some of theirs back in November. However, the fleece from Zeb, a rescued alpaca that has to wear a coat as he's lost much of his fleece, was there and it was a gorgeous black colour so I split it with Kimmie.
It was an excellent day out and it's well worth checking out the fleece and the yarn from Gilmour Bank Alpacas.
This photo I thought showed off the fluffiness of the alpacas the best.
