Looking Cocky

I passed two shotgun wielding huntsmen today accompanied by their springer on Featherbed Lane as they wandered back, empty handed, to their jeep. Two hundred yards further on I noticed this cock pheasant ...then a second and finally a hen....all together close to the road. I didn't crop the photo down any further as, if you look to the left, the hen blends in well with her surroundings. Luckily for them if they can survive the next seven days they are safe for another year...except for natural predators.... Like us... they just need that bit of luck....just saying
