Déjà vu

We had a nice leisurely morning in Nelson, that was until the phone rang and it was the contractor wanting to come and bale our hay this week.  So it was a quick pack up of our gear into the car, and we journeyed home.

Since arriving home mid afternoon, Farmerboy has been busy mowing the paddocks.  It's second cut grass so isn't as thick as when we cut it for silage.  It's 10pm and FB has just arrived home for tea.  He's half way through cutting it, and will continue tomorrow.  It will probably get baled on Tuesday/Wednesday.

We arrived home to 34 C, and boy was it hot.  It is amazing how brown the paddocks have gone since we left on Thursday.  The grass is crunchy when you stand on it.  We need rain......but it can wait until we have our hay in.  :-)
