Old, Gnarled and Beautiful

Went for a circular walk from the Cat and Fiddle today. Quite icy on the ridge, but by the end of the walk the mist had turned to driving rain which felt cold but was melting much of the snow that remained. We passed through a wood at the bottom which provided a brief respite from the weather. Not sure what the trees were, must look it up!
